Rocket here. I'm not currently adoptable, but I want to be one day. I haz some fear-aggressive issues and it takes me a while to warm up to strangers. As a result, I can seem kind of wild at first. But I promise I'm not! I'm just trying to protect myself. I was recently assessed by a wonderful local trainer and there is plenty of hope ahead in my future. Hel-lo, Seattle ... er, Atlanta! Frazier here. I've been here for a little while because, like several of my rescued roomies, I have some medical issues. They aren't quite sure what's wrong with me. They only know that I have some skin issues and I've tested negative for Cushing's Disease. The people who take care of me also believe I had a negative experience with some little people because I don't respond well with kids. I was at Columbia County Animal Control and slated to be put down last month when a wonderful group of people rallied to raise funds, pull me and board me until this rescue had room for me. They needed a home for some special cats and Patch (already adopted), Casey and I needed homes, so � Here I am! I'm a sweet boy. I like walking, but still want to pull a little on the leash, so need some guidance from you experienced JRT owners. I am a young boy (probably only 1 or 2), am UTD on shots and am heartworm free. I was dropped off at JRT rescue several years ago with Eli, my hubby and partner in terrier crime. We were breeder dogs and, much to the dismay of the man who used us for profit, were deemed 'useless' because our babies were coming out 'too small.' He had worse plans for our fate, but fortunately decided to call Mama Donna to come and get us. We are so fortunate she did. I have not been forced to have babies since then and I get to spend every day here with Eli and lots of other funny dogs. I'm an older gal and I have a heart murmur that requires monthly medication. I am positively gorgeous and funny and, as many visitors have learned over the years, if you can't adopt my wife with me, you can't adopt me. I tried it a couple of times. I ran away to get back to her both times. She and I are an extra-special, dynamic duo. We came here as a breeder drop-off; he said we were 'too old' and he 'had no use' for us anymore. I was dropped off at the Warner Robins shelter in August with nails so long they were literally curling, an ear infection and a plethora of other ailments. Everyone who saw my heart-wrenching shelter photo could not fathom the thought of me ending my life in the shelter � and now I won't. I was on death row at animal control when they called to let this rescue know there was a super-cute 'n super-silly JRT looking for a second chance. They couldn't say no. Look at me - who can?!
